This unique bungalow is as welcoming as the staff. You will enjoy the mellow laid back atmosphere as you look out at the water. You can dine inside or on The deck. The food is always amazing! Did I mention it's local seafood? Best crab cakes around! The service is top notch. The owner always goes out of his way to make sure we feel at home.
We had the fried buffalo shrimp appetizer which was delicious but could have used a tad more sauce as the shrimp weren't completely covered. They might do that because the sauce was pretty hot, but I think the hotter the better, it was delectable. The hush puppies were good. We had the catch of the day blackened with a side salad and red potatoes. It was some of the best fish I've had here. My husband had the fried shrimp and fried oyster combo with a side salad and fries. He said it was great too.
It was very good. The fish is whatever they caught that day and you can taste the freshness. The whole place seems to be gradually collapsing into a marsh, "Fall of the House of Usher" style, but that just adds to the authentic nautical atmosphere. Locals come here, which tells me it's a good one even before the unforgettable swordfish arrived. Also our waiter was ridiculously handsome. Like, inappropriately so, it makes one wonder what he's doing in food service, but no complaints, the service was fine so it's not like he's resting on his (no doubt lovely) laurels. Don't miss this place when you're on Tybee, unless you have a seafood allergy, in which case I feel bad for you, son.
Great local experience! Our order was taken and the food arrived hot to our table. Our waiter was Joshua, he was attentive and always kept a check on my wife and I. We roamed the dock after our meal and took pictures where the seafood arrived fresh. We will be back!
We ate here on our last night on Tybee Island and thought it was great. The parking lot is tiny so if you get one person who parks weird, it throws the whole lot off. The service was excellent. There were two waiters who helped us, they were joking with each other and with us which made for a good environment.
Terrible service and food prep. Our waitress was no where to be found, and once she finally showed herself, she looked at us and walked the other way. So I got up and asked the bartender for napkins. The shrimp had to be peeled, which is fine, but I have never been somewhere where I was forced to scrape the intestinal track from the shrimp. I have had a lot of shrimp boils, and the chef has ALWAYS deveined my shrimp. This made the food anything but appetizing, and it was way too expensive. The salad was pathetic and the corn was barely cooked. I'll never return and never recommend.
This place doesn't look fancy (which we prefer) but I definitely recommend if service and taste of the food are what's important to you.
